Feb 25,2018 Blog/Newsletter... So Much for the Lovely Break

Published by: janean strong on 02-25-2018

Well, well, well…. so much for the lovely break from cold winter temps.. I do believe these have been the coldest nights of the this season. It is soooooooo challenging to function in the bitter cold! And my friend Richard in Western Massachusetts said it was 77 there this week! Geez!

Chicken update. I have let everyone back out into their coop and pen. Daisy duck is limping but she is eating well and happy to have one other duck for a friend… they are all so social.
All of the chickens I had left inside made it back out… one still limps so she lets me lift her off her roost on to the ground as I think it is painful for her to jump down the 4 feet. I am thrilled she can get up by herself.

We got a bunch more snow and it has been bitter cold so they are not running around outside… just in case Mr Cougar decides to come back. Luckily they have a palace for home and enough outside covered and fenced space.

Many of you may not know this, but I have been living off the grid for 6 1/2 years. It feels good to be independent but there is not much sun here in the winter so the generator has to be on to charge the battery bank every other day…. using a lot of propane and it is noisy.
So we decided to bite the bullet and have power brought in. Big expensive job digging a1200 foot trench and all that went with it. But, we now have ‘shore power’. As the electrician calls it.

There certainly are upsides… like, I can use my toaster oven whenever I want, and do laundry and vacuum when I want… not just when the generator is on. You get the drift. Right now the big deal for me is freezing water for the chickens… I just happen to have a heater that you put under their water bowl that keeps it from freezing…. guess what I plugged in!!!
It really is the little things in life… ya know!

You are going to love the newest conversation with Janet Bray Attwood. Janet is a transformational leader and part of Jack Canfield’s Transformational Leadership Council…A peer group he formed after doing Janet’s ‘The Passion Test’. That is where I met her as my former husband, Bill Harris, is also a founding member of the group. We became fast friends and I was thrilled to reconnect and have her on the podcast. She is a busy girl and tough to nail down… writing, traveling around the world teaching and mentoring. And ya know what … she is one of the few of her caliber that I feel is transparent, humble and really lives what she teaches! Enjoy and be sure to do the exercise she shares.... I had to do it!

For archived podcast episodes I chose:

1. Dr. Diana Draper, ND. Diana’s conversation is on Adrenal Fatigue. Adrenal Fatigue is becoming very common in these stressful and challenging times.
Hard time getting up in the morning? Regularly fatigued? Have trouble sleeping? Find it difficult to handle stress? Feel mildly depressed or crave salty foods?
Time to consider the possibility of Adrenal Fatigue.
Adrenal Fatigue leads to many lowered hormones and neurotransmitters and can affect every part of your body.

2. Lion Goodman is the creator of the Clear Beliefs Process. Lion joins me to delve into beliefs and how they shape who we are and how we see the world. He shares with us how he developed this process to clear negative self sabotaging beliefs and leads us in a couple of processes during this interview so that we can have our own experiences.

And of course scroll to the bottom for another great recipe. Time for a dessert that is yummy and actually pretty healthy.

Who do you know that can benefit from these podcast conversations? Please share the love far and wide by forwarding this email to friends and family.
This is my gift and service and your help in getting the word out is very much appreciated!
